摘　　要：对汉、英两种语言中的亲属称谓语和社交称谓语进行比较,并且阐述了由此所反映出的两种不同的文化内涵。Appellation is the most widely and frequently used words in the ligusitic communication. It is not only a common linguistic phenomenon, but also a cultural one. Appellation reflects the socal relationship among people, ethinic cultural essence and values, thus playing important social functions. This paper makes a contrast between Chinese and English kn appellation and the forms of address in social intercourse, and elaborates their different functions.
