摘　　要：面对人口激增、资源破坏、环境污染、经济发展受阻的严峻挑战,可持续发展已成为世界新型的经济社会发展战略。其核心就是协调人口、资源、环境与经济发展的关系,缓解资源供给与需求的矛盾,以促进经济社会的可持续发展。适度的人口规模、适宜的人口密度、优良的人口素质和合理的人口结构将促进人口与经济、社会、资源、环境的全面协调。发展循环经济是解决新疆人口增长、经济发展和环境问题冲突的最佳途径,必将成为新疆社会经济发展模式的理想选择。Confronted with challenges of the soaring population, the devastated resource, the polluted environment and the blocked economic development, the sustainable development has become the world＇s new strategy of the development of economic society. The core of this strategy is to coordinate the relationship between popularity, resource, environment and economic development, and to reduce the conflict between the providing of resource and the needing of that in order to promote the sustainable development of economic society. Moderate population scale and density, excellent quality and reasonable structure of population will promote a fully coordination between population and economy, society, resource, environment. To develop circular economy is the best way to cope with the conflict between population increasing, economy development and environmental problem in Xinjiang, and it will be bound to be the ideal choice of the developing mode of the society and economy in Xinjiang.
