摘  要:距旧金山约10km的2号街道位于滨海地区快速轨道交通系统(BART)末端。最近.为了纪念一位受人们爱戴的地方官员.将其更名为”麦克·D·内文大街”.并于2001年9月举行了揭牌典礼。街道包括一条长约90m的步行街,配备了城市照明设施.并建有砖石、钢等材质的阶梯。建在约4m高的砖石墙上的环形广场上有一株未受到破坏的.硕大的柏树.以及新近栽种的整齐的槐树。The ‘B' Street Right-of-Way, recently renamed Michael D. Nevin Way after a beloved County Supervisor, is located approximately 10 miles from San Francisco at the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) current “end of the line” location. Dedicated in September, 2001 it consists of a 300' long pedestrian walkway with unit pavers, civic lighting, a masonry and steel staircase, a circular plaza elevated atop 12' high masonry walls, a preserved massive Monterey Cypress tree, and a new allee of Locust trees. The newly constructed pedestrian thoroughfare is the first realization of a long range plan to provide a “kiss-and-ride” pedestrian link between the new Colma Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) Station and El Camino Real, a major arterial linking south bay cities. The walkway is also intended to serve as an an- chor and catalyst for the densification of the neighborhood with commercial, retail, multi-family and single family housing made possible by the opening of the new BART station, and to provide fire truck access (via a hammerhead turnaround) for the recently built, adjacent multi-family housing. The walkway, stair and plaza is a central armature which is modulated with low concrete fin walls and lighting to allow new development to tie into it in an orderly way.
