摘　　要：此书是作者的论文集,所收十六篇文章,按内容可以分为三组。第一组三篇,是对敦煌的历史概况、兴衰之因及其文化特征等有关敦煌的一般性问题的探讨;第二组是回顾与评述20世纪敦煌学及其与唐史的关系的四篇文章;第三组是作者所写的关于敦煌学论著的九篇书评。该书的出版,对于人们体认20世纪敦煌学的继承与创新、嬗变和发展必将发挥有益的启迪作用,同时对于襄进新世纪敦煌学研究的蓬勃展开无疑具有重要的参考价值。It is collection of the author, in which there are altogether 16 articles. It can be divided into three sections： three articles in the first section, in which a general discussion of the history, the rise and fall and some cultural features of Dunhuang are included; four articles in the second section, in which a review and comment of the study of Dunhuang and its relationship with the history of Tang Dynasty; nine book reviews of Dunhuang Study by the author in the last section. The whole book is of great value of references in the study of Dunhuang in the new century.
