填充多层手征介质的共焦椭圆波导模式特征方程

摘　　要：采用在椭圆柱坐标系中分离变量的方法,给出了填充任意多层互易手征介质共焦椭圆波导模式特征方程的一般计算公式.结果表明,当椭圆退化为圆时,利用角向马丢函数和径向马丢函数的渐进关系,可得到填充多层互易手征介质的圆波导的模式特征方程.由此可见,圆波导是椭圆波导的特例;当只填充一层互易手征介质时,可由所得椭圆波导的一般特征方程得到此种特殊情况的模式特征方程,利用特征方程可分析填充互易手征介质的椭圆波导的传播特性.By using the method of separation of variables in the elliptical-cylindrical coordinate system, the eigenequation for a confocal elliptical waveguide filled with multilayered reciprocal chiral media is presented in this paper. When the elliptical waveguide becomes a circular waveguide, the eigenequation of the circular waveguide can be obtained from the eigenequation of the elliptical waveguide by using the asymptotic formulae of angular Mathieu and radial Mathieu functions. The results show that the eigenequation of a circular waveguide filled with multilayercd reciprocal chiral media can be treated as a special case of an elliptical waveguide. When the elliptical waveguide is filled with one layer of reciprocal chiral media, the eigenequation for it can also be derived. The propagation characteristics can be analyzed from the eigenequation.
