摘　　要：X窗口中的中文字体服务存在很多缺陷,与Windows操作系统中的字体服务相比缺少灵活性和高效性。该文讨论在X窗口系统中中文TrueType字体的应用问题,介绍X窗口系统,探讨TrueType字体及光栅转换过程的原理,给出一种中文TrueType字体在X窗口中的实现方法,并以RedHat Linux 9.0系统为例,说明了中文TrueType字体的安装方法及程序开发中的字体调用方法。Font service is important in X Window system. However, Chinese font service is less flexible and efficient in X Window system than that in Microsoft Windows operating system. This paper explores the application of Chinese TrueType font service in X Window system. It introduces the application of Chinese TrueType font in X Window system and its rasterizing procedure. The implementation of the font is discussed. It explains how to install Chinese TrueType font and how to use Chinese TrueType font in programming development with an example in RedHat Linux 9.0 operating system.
