摘　　要：将模因理论引入文化研究领域可以发现,包罗万象的文化其实就是一个复杂的模因复合体,其组成部分则是模因因子。模因为文化研究提供了一种相对简单且易于操作的分析工具。美国文化是西方文化中非常独特的一种民族文化。研究美国文化具有很重要的理论和实践意义。本文以模因论及其文化观为基础,深入分析了美国文化中的独特模因并在此基础上指出了模因论对文化研究和传播的重要作用。According to memetics, culture is actually a meme complex, which consists of various memes. Thus meme provides a comparatively simple and manageable tool for culture study. Based on memetics, this article explores the special memes of American culture： puritanism, liberalism and individualism, which determine its uniqueness and vitality. Meanwhile, the importance of memetics in culture study and transmission has been emphasized.
