摘　　要：我们正处于一个须臾离不开信息的时代。阅读，包括英语阅读，是获取信息的重要手段。然而，在英语教学中我们发现学生通过阅读获取信息的能力相对薄弱，主要表现为抓不住文本所提供的信息以及阅读速度跟不上。《阅读教程》聚焦于上述两个问题，培养通过阅读获取信息的能力，同时也以生动有趣的内容让学生享受阅读。Ours is an era of information which, to all of us, is indispensable. The major avenue to information is probably reading, English reading included. However, in English language teaching we find it one of students＇ weaknesses to obtain information through reading, featured by the failure to get the message of the text and to read at a normal speed. An English Reading Course, aiming at addressing the above issues, teaches students to read fur information and, among other things, for pleasure.
