摘　　要：1917年8月至1918年初,以皖系段祺瑞为首的北京政府为了夺取湖南进而消灭以孙中山为首的护法军政府,派北洋军南下,发动了第一次攻湘之战。本文拟从四个方面论述这一段重要史实:一、湘督易人与湘战爆发;二、两广援湘与衡宝之战;三、和战之争;四、收复岳阳与惩办傅、周。The Beijing Government under the Anhui Faction headed by Duan Qi-rui sent the Beiyang troops to fight for Hunan and launched the first attack on Hunan from August 1917 to the early of 1918 in order to wipe out the Military Government for the Protection of Constitution headed by Dr Sun Yat-sen.This paper mainly discusses this event as following four points：first,the change of military governor of Hunan and the outbreak of the Hunan campaign;second,the reinforcements of Guangdong and Guangxi sent to Hunan and the Hengyang-BaoQing battle;third,dispute on cease-fire;fourth,the recovery of Yueyang and the punishment of Fu Liang-zuo and Zhou Zhao-qing.
