摘　　要：园林植物是园林的重要组成部分,是具有生命力特征的园林要素。通过对中日两国园林植物材料选择的分析,从植物区系相似性、美学意义、地域差别、造园者、园林行进和欣赏方式等方面探讨了植物材料对中日两国园林风格形成的重要性。Ornamental plant is an essential component in landscaping. It is the only landscape element which possesses vitality. This article analyzes the differences in the selection of garden plants between China and Japan, and discusses the importance of plants and how they influence the creation of the Chinese landscape style and the Japanese landscape style from some particular aspects, such as the similarities of flora between east China and Japan, the aesthetic significance, the regional differences, landscape architects, the routes of visiting gardens and parks, the means of appreciation, and so on.
