摘　　要：评价理论是功能语言学对人际意义研究的新发展。通过对最高人民法院提审刘涌案后所作的刑事判决书的判决理由和判决结果部分进行态度研究,从法学角度阐述了最高人民法院对刘涌案改判的理由,并从语言学角度初步探讨了该理论对刑事判决理由与结果在写作上的积极意义。The appraisal theory is a kind of new development about interpersonal function in systemic functional linguistics.The paper applies such a functional approach to analyze both the result of the final judgment and the ratio decidendi of the case about Liu Yong,trying linguistically and legally to tell why the Supreme Court of P.R.C revised the original judgment and executed Liu Yong right after the criminal verdict took effect..In addition,the paper offers a primary discussion on the probably positive changes for the making of criminal written judgment brought by the appraisal approach.
