摘　　要：20世纪后半期,大都市连绵带的发展成为美国城市化的主要内容。人口、经济和社会活动的高度集中以及优越便利的交通和通信,使得大都市连绵带成为国家社会和经济生活中最重要的枢纽和"孵化器"。不同规模、等级的大都市区之间有着紧密的相互联系与协作,形成了有机的城市系统,其发展代表着美国城市化的未来。In the second half of twentieth century, the development of Megalopolis has been the mainbody of American urbanization. In megalopolis, each metropolitan has linked together by broad traffic and communication, a large variety of population, economic and social activities have concentrated, and plural urban system has formed, which promote megalopolis becoming the hinge of social and economic system in America, meanwhile, an ＂incubator＂ of new trend in urban evolution. Megalopolis represents the future of American urbanization.
