摘　　要：通过对西安科技大学2003—2006年所发论文被《美国工程索引》(EI)收录情况的统计分析,在与5所同类大学比较的基础上,肯定学校整体快速发展的同时,客观地思考存在的问题,提出了一些个人看法,对学校制定未来发展计划具有一定的参考价值。The statistics and analysis are made on papers published by faculties of Xi＇an University of Science and Technology（XUST） , collected by American Engineering Index （El） from 2003-2006. Comparing with five similar-scale universities in China, the author points out while affirming rapid development of XUST, we must think objectively of existing problem. Some personal views on problem-solving are of a certain referent value for making future plan.
