摘　　要：湖南东南部农村党员的民主意识,从总体上讲虽然有些不足;但在某些方面,却很令人鼓舞。他们的选举意识、责任意识、监督意识以及参政的初级能力等,都达到了我们所未能想到的程度,较差的是主体意识以及对党内民主的基本常识的了解。影响他们民主意识的因素,主要是民主文化和商品经济的发展程度。提高农村党员的民主意识,应在发展乡村的商品经济和民主文化上下功夫。The democratic awareness of the Communist Party members in rural Hunan, the whole, though some insufficient, but in some areas, is very encouraging. Their election, and responsibility, supervision awareness and the initial capacity of participating in government politics, all had achieved the degree we have not been able to think. But they lack democratic awareness and basic knowledge of it. The degree of development of democracy culture and commodity economy is the main factor, it＇s very important to improve their democratic awareness.
