摘　　要：从率先部署WCDMA的NTT DoCoMo,到曾经开通世界最大HSDPA网络的Telstra,再到大力发展视频流媒体业务的和记3公司,运营商们在3G的发展上逐步解决了网络覆盖、传输速率、终端和业务等方面的问题,全球3G市场也开始呈现快速发展态势—3G网络部署数量继续高速增长,越来越多的2G用户加快了向3G迁移的步伐。不仅如此,3G增强型技术规模商用,HSDPA和CDMA1xEV-DO技术逐渐成为主流,更是打开了运营商的赢利之门,让他们进入了一个更加广阔的世界。放眼移动宽带的天空,运营商们怎样飞得更高?From the NTT DoCoMo that first deployed the WCD- MA, to Telstra that is operat- ing the world's largest HSD- PA network to date, and to Hutchison 3 companies that is vigorously developing video streaming media ser- vices, operators have been gradually resolving problems like network coverage, trans- mission rate, terminals and business models, which speeds up the development of 3G market.3G network continues its rapid growth in deployments throughout the world, while migration of users from 2G to 3G has been accelerated. Moreover, enhanced tech- nologies like HSDPA and CDMA 1xEV- DO are be- coming commercial. All those indicate that a door to prof- itability has been opened up in front of the operators, which allows them to fly freely in the sky of mobile broadband. Data traffic over opera- tors's networks is dramati- cally increasing with the up- grade of data rate on the mobile broadband networks, the continuously enrichment in terminals and the reduc- tion in prices. The soaring of mobile broadband data ser- vices boosts the conver- gence of mobile communi- cation and other industries, which will inspire more and more converged services and applications.
