摘　　要：作者从历法演变的角度,结合词源学的知识,解释了英语中月份和星期名称的含义,说明了古代文化(特别是神话传说)与这些词汇的关系,对广大英语爱好者理解和掌握词汇会有一定的借鉴作用。With the evolution of calendar and etymological analysis,the authors expound the meanings of the names English months and weeks,and also explain a relationship between theses vocabulary and ancient cultures,especially with mythology and legend in the hope of being helpful for English learners to understand and grasp the vocabulary.
