摘　　要：本文从探究罗伯特·洛厄尔的生平及其诗歌发展路线入手,试图找到其人生及诗作的主题,得出的结论是洛厄尔一生努力挣脱命运的束缚,但最终仍然屈服于命运。This article is an attempt to get at the essence in Robert. Lowell＇ s life and his poetry by probing into his life experience and his poetry development. Based on the present study, the article provides an answer to the search, namely, the controlling factor in Lowell＇ s poetry development and his life experience is that he always tries to get away from reality and seek after imagination, but the struggle for freedom is itself a which suffocates him to death. bondage
