摘　　要：总结地理信息系统在文献信息管理中的应用,国内外的许多图书馆正寻求利用GIS提供信息服务的途径,因而成为图书馆界探讨和研究新热点。介绍地理信息系统在图书馆的应用,该技术在图书馆管理中的应用,GIS的服务策略以及基于GIS技术的文献信息管理设计与实践,并提出应用GIS技术在文献层面实现可视化管理的设想。This paper focuses on the applications of Geographic Information System （GIS） to the literature information management. Libraries have been seeking ways to integrate GIS into their information services. The paper gives an overview of the applications of the GIS technology in the libraries and their management, the service strategy of GIS,and a particular focus on the ability of GIS to deal with literature information. The paper also presents the comsideration of GIS technology-based visualized information management.
