摘　　要：后现代主义文学在艺术主张和审美追求上呈现出极其复杂多元的形态,其作品主题、语言、情节结构、人物形象通常都显得似是而非,模糊不清,既可作如是解,又可作如彼解,令人困惑,有时甚至难以理喻。本文就多元性特征在英美后现代主义文学作品中情节和人物两要素的体现进行探究,以期对英美后现代主义文学有更好的理解。Postmodern literature reflects extremely complicated and diversified patterns in its artistic and aesthetic pursuits, characterized by obscurity and ambiguity in its themes, languages, plots and characters. That means it is often puzzling and sometimes incomprehensible, allowing various interpretations. This paper explores how pluralism is reflected in English and American postmodern literature in terms of plots and characters, so as to facilitate a better understanding of this literary genre.
