Objective To investigate the pathophysiological effects after indoor blast injuries on the chest of dogs, and the hemorrheological changes after the injury. Methods According to the distance between the explosive resources and the weight of the explosive charge, the animals ( 24 dogs ) were randomly divided into 4 groups, among which were 3 injury groups and a control group. They were further divided into four groups on the basis of time points after the injury. Then the physiological, hemorrheological parameters and blood gas were monitored and the pathological changes of heart muscle was observed. Results After injury, the frequency of breath, heart rate, blood pressure and blood gas changed significantly in all three injuried groups as compared with the control group. The whole blood viscosity and the index of erythrocyte aggregation increased, as compared with the control group, but the index of erythrocyte deformability decreased. The result of pathological examination indicated that higher explosive pressure caused more severe heart muscle injuries. Conclusion Explosive injury could affect the hemorrheology statius and change physiological parameters in short period.
