摘　　要：棉业在近代中国具有特殊重要的地位,不仅关系国际贸易,而且与民生日用休戚相关,历届政府都很重视棉业的改良与发展。直隶商会作为当时最有影响的经济社团,在济农兴农问题上,以挽回利权相号召,采取措施规范棉业市场,配合政府推行棉业改良,收到了良好效果,成为近代推动棉业改良与发展的一支重要力量。Cotton has an important position in modern China, which involves in international trade and peoples life, so governments have valued the reform and development of cotton industry. As an economic association, Hebei Chamber of Commerce did a lot in helping peasants, winning rights, regulating cotton markets, the reform of cotton industry, and thus became an important force in promoting cotton industry.
