摘　　要：香港造纸企业年生产能力只有４２万吨，而纸和纸板的年消费量则达１２０万吨左右（相当于人均２００ｋｇ），其需求基本上是依靠进口。近年来，香港每年约进口纸和纸板２００～３００万吨，除满足本港需求外，大约２／３属转口贸易。Total paper and paperboard consumption in Hongkong has recently been reported to have reached close to 1 2 million metric tons per year,equivalent to a per capita consumption of around 200 kilograms.The total annual capacity of the existing paper mills on the island is claimed to be 420 thousand metric tons.Evidently,Hongkong has been relying mostly on the importation of paper and paperboard to satisfy the local demand.In the past years,Hongkong used to import 2 5￣3 0 million metric tons of paper and paperboard per year,of which close to 70% was destined for re exportation,chiefly to China's Mainland.It is expected that after China resumes her sovereignty over Hongkong,paper trade on the island will continue to prosper in harmony with the growth of the economy in China's Mainland.And,only minor growth in paper and paperboard production will be foreseeable on the island in the near future.
