摘　　要：芝加哥似乎对亨德尔歌剧中关于为情所困的伟大军事首领的剧目总是情有独钟。这，个演出季之初，芝加哥歌剧团在哈里斯音乐舞蹈剧院演出其春季演出季闭幕剧目——新版《奥兰多》（Orlondo），虽然算不上众星云集，但却生气蓬勃，别具魅力。芝加哥歌剧团这发亨德尔炮筒里的新鲜炮弹，是该市自1986年在芝加哥歌剧院，OUTLINE / Earlier this season, Chicago Lyric Opera presented Giulio Cesare in a well-nigh perfect production with David Daniels as the conquering Caesar and Danielle de Niese as Cleopatra. Chicago Opera Theater closed its spring season at the Harris Music and Dance Theater with a less starstudded cast but an attractive and spirited new production of Orlando. This new production, with Handel veteran Raymond Leppard conducting in the pit and young Australian stage director .Justin Way handling the action and concept, showed the difficulties and rewards of presenting this historic masterwork betore a contemporary audience.
