摘　　要：人们常把中国人重文轻武、中庸忍让的民族性格的根源与儒家思想的倡导联系起来,仿佛儒家从孔子开始就主张好静不好动,薄肢体而重精神。各种史料证明,孔子是一位重视体育的实践家,并非重文轻武,而真正使中国人走向重文轻武的道路则始于汉代,并且通过宋明理学得到进一步加强。It always relates the root of national characteristics of ＂culture- first body- second＂ and ＂golden- mean tolerance＂ with the advocating of Confucianism, as the claim of ＂quiet better than active and spirit - first body - second＂ was begun with Confucius. It is demonstrated that Confucius was a sports- practitioner by history, the real beginning to the ＂culture - first body - second＂ was in Han Destiny and strengthened in Song Destiny.
