摘　　要：2008年5月12日14时28分在我国四川省汶川县（北纬31．0°，东经103．4°）发生了8．0级（里氏震级）特大地震，地震的发生震撼了中国，也震撼了世界。5月18日国务院发布公告，为表达全国各族人民对汶川地震中遇难同胞的深切悼念．决定2008年5月19日至21日为全国哀悼日，并下半旗志哀。在为遇难同胞举行哀悼、寄托哀思之后，我们还要认真探究与冷静思考引起这场地震灾害的真正的地球物理学原因。The research progress on 2008 Wenchuan quake in China and its possible geodetic formation were introduced. The extrusion of the Indian plate (INDI) relative to the Eurasian plate causes the moving of the south part of Qinghai-Xizang Plateau (QXP) in NE direction,and that of the east part of the QXP in E-SE direction, respectively.The convergence rate with 2 to 5 mm/year between both sides of the Longmen mountain is produced.The Wenchuan quake induced the rupture of about 300 km length along this mountain .
