摘　　要：从学术鉴别力、专业理解力和专业洞察力3个方面阐明编辑的专业素质有利于对稿件的学术性和学术观点的准确把关,也有利于对稿件的鉴别和筛选。认为:科技学术期刊编辑的专业素质包括素质的专业性、素质的综合性和素质的敏感性;通过短期培训、学历教育、科研实践、学术活动等途径,可能提高编辑的专业水平,丰富编辑的科研经历,增加编辑的知识积累。From three aspects-academic distinguishing capacity, professional understanding capacity and professional perspicacity, the paper proves that the professional quality of an editor is beneficial for his or her ＂gate keeping＂ of manuscripts＇ level and viewpoints. The professional quality, according to the authors, includes specialty quality, comprehensive quality and professional sensitivities. This paper also points out the ways to cultivate the professional quality such as short-term training, degree education, scientific research practices and science activities. All these are propitious to improve an editor＇s professional level, to enrich scientific research practices as well as to increase knowledge accumulation.
