摘　　要：随军布教是日本佛教踏足台湾的最初目的;发挥宗教殖民统治的作用是其深层目的;企图在新的殖民地吸收更多的信徒,争夺宗教信仰资源,强化宗派势力,是其长远目的。本文在总结日本佛教入台目的的同时,亦分析了其布教因素与效果。The motive of Japanese Buddhism in Taiwan after the Sino-Japanese War of 1894---1895 was closely related with the development of Japanese Buddhism,especially and directly related with its development around the Meiji Restoration.The initial intention of Japanese Buddhism in Taiwan was to mission along with the Japanese Army.Its deep-seated intention was to give play to the religion in colonist ruling.And its long-term intention was to have more followers in the new colony,i.e.scrambling for the religious resources,as to strengthen the influence of all its sects.The result ofJapanese Buddhism in Taiwan was directly under the influence of the following factors:the policies and attitudes of the Japanese Buddhist sects toward the missions in Taiwan;finance support;relationship with the Japanese colonist authorities in Taiwan,the qualifications of the missionaries;the identity with the original belief system of Buddhism of Taiwan.
