摘　　要：倡导社会阅读是一个国家提高国民文化素质的一项重要举措。目前,我国的社会阅读出现了种种不尽人意的状况,在诸多影响因素中,公共图书馆的阅读服务功能弱化是一个极其重要的原因。为了提高国民的阅读率,增强和培养国民的阅读习惯和阅读能力,必须重塑公共图书馆的社会阅读服务功能。Advocating reading in the whole society is an important measure to enhance the cultural quality of the whole nation. Nowadays, reading for the people in the society in our country is not satisfactory. Of all the reasons, the insufficient role that public libraries can play in the society is the most important. In order to increase the amount of reading by the people and encourage their practice of reading and improve their reading ability, we must rebuild the functions of the public libraries in the society for all the people.
