摘　　要：The National Development and Reform Commission published on September 2 the operational status of the major Chinese industries for July 2008, which shows that the added value of the machinery industry increased by 17.4% year-on-year in the month, with the growth rate dropping by 3.6 percentage points over June, and that its export value rose by 20.9% year-on-year, with the growth rate climbing by 1 percentage point over June. In July, China＇s vehicle output rose by 13.2% year-on-year, with the output of sedans in- creasing by 8%. In addition, the output of environmentally friendly equipment and mediumand large-sized tractors grew by 6% and 4.9% year-on-year respectively, while the output of CNC machine tools and power generation equipment dropped by 7.3% and 37.4% year-on-year respectively.Manufacturing enterprises' multiple tactics to survive The producer price index (PPI) for China's industrial prod- ucts rose 10% year on year in July, while that of the mining in- dustries surged 34% year-on-year, according to China Securities Journal. The data shows that China's manufacturing industry is facing the pressure of increasing costs.
