摘　　要：运用历史文献资料与考古等方法,综合分析了古代北方少数民族体育的几个主要发展阶段、影响古代北方少数民族体育文化的主要因素、古代北方少数民族体育的分类和特征等问题。古代北方少数民族体育文化是我国民族文化的重要组成部分,它经历了萌芽、初步发展、全面发展和兴盛与衰落等几个主要阶段,是现代民族传统体育的重要源泉。影响古代北方少数民族体育文化的主要因素有地理与自然环境、民族政治制度与组织形式、民族经济和生存方式、民族周边形势、文化认同和民族心理、民族政策、民俗与宗教信仰;古代北方少数民族体育的类型主要有生产实践类、宗教祭祀礼仪类、军事训练类、民俗节日庆典类和其他游戏娱乐类;其特征主要表现在民族性、时空性、传承性、尚武性和社会性等几个方面。古代北方少数民族体育在促进民族交流和团结方面产生了巨大的历史作用。With the methods of historical and archaeological documentation, a comprehensive analysis of the sports of the northern ethnic minorities in ancient society is made, including its major development stages, the factors influencing its sports culture, as well as the classification and characteristics of its sports. As an important part of Chinese national culture, northern minority sports culture in ancient society has experienced such main stages as the beginning period, the developing period, the comprehensive prosperity period and decline. It serves as the significant source of the traditional national sports of the modern society. The factors that have in- fluenced northern ethnic minorities sports culture include geography, natural environment, national political system, forms of organization, national economy and lifestyle, the surrounding situations, cultural identity and national psychology, ethnic policy, folk and religious beliefs, etc. The main types of sports of the northern minorities are the production and practice type, the religious worship rituals type, military training type, folk festival type and other entertain ment type, which are mainly characterized with ethnics, time and space, heritage, military and sociology. The sports of the northern ethnic minorities in ancient society have great historical impacts on the promotion of ethnic communication and unity, which is of great importance in the study and development of modern national traditional sports.
