摘　　要：聂士成耐劳苦,治国事如家事。所部一万六千人,为清军五大主力之一。用洋法操练,成效显著,可称为洋务派。八国联军进攻天津,所部英勇抵抗,阵亡数千,他本人也壮烈牺牲,可歌可泣。他的死,也带有清流派与洋务派争斗的痕迹。Nie Shicheng was a hard worker, he managed the state affairs just as housekeeping. 16 thousands soldiers he led was one of 5 main forces of the Army of Qing Dynasty. He trained soldiers with the western methods andhad achieved remarkable results, and named Westemization Group. When the allied armies of 8 countries aggressed Tianjin, his soldiers resisted bravely and several thousands were killed, and he also died a martyr, was above all praise. His dead showed a trace of the struggle between Qingliu Group and Westernization Group.
