摘　　要：如果按照字面解释,picturesque这个词的意思就是＂像画上画的那样＂。这个词在现代的美术世界中并不是一个具有肯定意味的词,而是庸俗的,无论在谁的眼里都是陈腐表现的代名词。然而,自19世纪80年代以来,随着后现代主义在世界范围内被广泛认知,在城市景观论的世界中,比起功能性和合理性,＂外观＂显得更为重要。在这里,picturesque就上升为一种具有肯定意味的价值观。When looking at the Mori Tower as an iconographic image,we cannot help but notice the power of the contemporary″Japonica″style.The design was done by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates PC,a New York-based architectural design firm that rode the post-modern boom of the 1980＇s in the U.S.to become one of world＇s leading design offices.William Pedersen, one of the firm＇s founders,took personal charge of this crucial project.In terms of its sense of scale,explicit exterior design, and so on.the Mori Tower ranks with topnotch architectural designs worldwide.
