摘　　要：城市在形成发展的过程中孕育出城市文化,城市文化则反过来影响城市的发展和演变。图书馆是城市文化的重要组成部分,它的文献收藏功能、信息传递功能以及建筑物的文化符号功能等,构成了一个城市不可缺少的文化要素,针对铁岭市实际对城市文化与图书馆的共生与互动关系予以探讨。The city gestates the civic culture during its processes of formation and development, and the city culture affects the city＇s development and evolution in turn. The library is an important part of the city culture. It has the functions of literature collection, information transmission, as well as cultural symbols function of structures and so on, which constituted an essential and necessary cultural factor of the city. And this article discussed the coexistence and interaction of between the civic culture and the library in view of the actual situation of Tieling city.
