摘　　要：1948年初发生的港英政府强拆九龙城民居事件,再次触发中英围绕九龙城主权问题的交涉,并引发内地民众抗议港英当局行径的浪潮。广州成立粤穗各界对九龙事件外交后援会,并举行声势浩大的示威游行。面对民情愤慨,以国民党广州市党部主任高信为首的CC派为捞取政治资本,同时为防止中共地下党借机活动,高调出面组织并领导了广州各界的示威活动。然而,由于广东地方派系林立,各方互不配合,游行示威行动最终失控,酿成火烧英国驻粤总领事馆的沙面事件,令国民政府在外交上陷于被动。The incident in which the British Hong Kong government forcibly demolished residents' dwellings in Kowloon in early 1948 triggered a new round of negotiation between China and Britain on the issue of the sovereignty of Kowloon and a wave of protest by mainlanders against the British Hong Kong administration.People from all walks of life in Guangzhou set up the Guangzhou Diplomacy Support Association and organized high-profile parades and demonstrations.Faced with indignant protestors,the CC Clique headed by Gao Xin,the chief of the Nationalist office in Guangzhou,made a great show of organizing and leading the Guangzhou protests in order to gain political capital and forestall any action by the underground CPC in response to the opportunity.However,due to the lack of coordination of the numerous local cliques in Guangdong,the demonstration got out of control,and led to the Shamian Incident in which the British Consulate-General in Guangzhou was set on fire.This landed the Nationalist government in an awkward diplomatic situation.
