摘　　要：《东西洋考每月统记传》是基督教新教传教士郭士立在中国境内创办的最早的中文期刊。该刊是在清政府实施严厉的禁教政策和严格的闭关政策以及中外之间存在着严重的民族偏见的社会历史背景下,经过郭士立的不断努力而创办的。Eastern ＆ Western Monthly Magazine was the first Chinese magazine published by Christian missionary Karl Friedrich August Gutzlaff. The magazine was started by the constant efforts of Karl Friedrich August Gutzlaff under the society historical background of severe prohibition of religion-spreading policy and strict closing-up policy of Qing Government in China as well as serious racial prejudice between China and West.
