摘　　要：由于数据源的多样化、异构化,用户对OLAP系统的开放性要求也越来越高。一个开放的OLAP服务系统应该能够集成常见的分析数据源、有效管理系统中的元数据并能提供跨平台的数据访问。XML的潜在优势能很好满足开放性要求。研究了开放式OLAP服务系统所提出的新要求,探讨XML在OLAP系统中的应用角色,提出将XML技术用于实现OLAP解决方案所具有的潜在优势,并以开源项目Mondrian为例,介绍了XML在该OLAP系统中的应用。Resulting from the diversity and heterogeneity of data sources, users of current OLAP system are demanding a higher level openness. An open OLAP system should be able to integrate the general data sources and can effectively manage the metadata of the system. Meanwhile, the cross platform data access service should be provided by the system. The potential advantages of XML can better satisfy the opening requirements. This paper studies the new requirements proposed by the open OLAP system, then analyzes the role of XML in OLAP system and puts forward the potential advantages of XML technology in implementing OLAP solutions. Lastly, take Mondrian project for example, illustrates how XML is used in the system.
