摘　　要：在当代中国,社会的转型和经济的转轨对执政党建设提出了更高的要求和严峻的挑战。党要保持自身的先进性、提高执政能力、巩固执政地位,就必须不断扩大自身的群众基础。扩大党的群众基础能够使党获得各阶层的民意支持,能够丰富和创新党执政的思想文化资源,增强党的意识形态功能,进而促进政治发展和社会稳定。In contemporary China, the social and economic transformations have put forward higher requirements and acuter challenges of the building of the ruling party. To maintain its advanced nature, improve ruling ability and consolidate the ruling status of party, we must continue to expand the mass basis of the Party, by which the party will get all levels of public support, innovate and enrich the ruling party＇ s ideological and cultural resources, strengthen the party＇ s ideological functions, and promote the development of political and social stability.
