摘　　要：从“牛顿”（Newton）到iPodtouch，苹果用14年的时间，终于将Mac OX装进了普通人的口袋。很多人都说iPod touch其实就是去掉了通信功能的iPhone，但对苹果这样的完美主义者而言，“touch”必然还有更多的企图最近有传闻说，当年那个“虎头虎脑”的“牛顿”马上就要回来了。From Newton to iPod touch,after 14 years' effort,Apple eventually put the Mac OX into the pocket of ordinary people. Many say iPod touch actually is the iPhone with its telecom- munication function being removed,but for the perfectionist like Apple,'touch'no doubt has more purposes-recently it was spreading that the vigorous and lovely'Newton'is coming back soon. Whether this is true or not,almost all the Hi-tech industry practitioners are identifying with such a proposition: the ubiquitous broadband and wireless network are one of the major development trends for global computer industry.On the one hand,this will enable the internet to change the business landscape continuously and profoundly; while on the other hand.the mode and custom of people getting connected to the internet will also be endowed with ever-increasing richer imagination; mobility and portability have become the undis- putable core elements. Putting Internet into the pocket is just one scenario among these wonderful imaginations,just as during the Apple era,the failing'Newton'initiated the PDA product category.But during the recent two years,there are more and more practitio- ners trying to turn the imagination into reality.PC is undergo- ing exciting transformation in the dimension of mobility and portability. David Perlmutter,Executive VP and General Manager of mobile business department at Intel,firmly believes that the future of personal computing lies with the mobile field.At the beginning of April,he received exclusive interview with our correspondent at IDF (Intel Information Technology Forum) and said: It is the world for mobile now.Currently,notebook computers account for 40% of the global computer market. This figure will reach 50% after two years. At the current IDF,Intel has officially identified the Mobile Internet Device (MID) as a new product category,and depicted brilliant prospect for its future.Compared with the UMPC (Ultra mobile PC) emerging two years ago,MID is holding the banner of°∞pocket internet°±in greater grande
