摘　　要：政治隐喻因为其界定功能、信息处理功能和说服功能而受到当代美国政治家们的欢迎。美国政治家在使用政治隐喻的时候,由于他们各自的政治观点或个人的社会经历、爱好等因素而采取不同的隐喻表达。在劝说方面,体育隐喻和战争隐喻是最为常见的两种政治隐喻;而家庭、邻居和领袖隐喻是处理美国国内外事务中常用的概念隐喻。Political metaphors are very popular among the modern American politicians because of its defining, persuading and information-processing functions. Owing to their political opinions and their own likes and social experiences, the politicians use different metaphors. Sports and war metaphors are often used for their persuasive powers and when dealing with the home and foreign political affairs, the politicians always resort to FAMILY, NEIGHBORHOOD and LEADERSHIP conceptual metaphors.
