摘　　要：光技术可以极大提高现有传输网的性能,满足现在和将来的应用需求.文章描述未来传输网的结构和光交叉连接技术,还讨论了网络的应用、管理、运行及维护.Abstract: It is more or less a common understanding all around the world that optical technology can significantly enhance the existing transport network thus satisfying current and future needs. The described architecture and evolutionary paths for the future transport networks and the optical cross-connect take into account existing network infrastructure and potential of optical technology. The discussion is not limited to pure information transfer but also includes aspects of applications,management as well as operation and maintenance.
