摘　　要：INTRODUCTION Anthostomella rostrispora W.H. Hsieh, C.Y. Chen & Sivan. [as rostrospora] was described by Hsieh et al. (1975) and was accepted in the world monograph of the genus Anthostomella Sacc.Anthostomella rostrispora W.H. Hsieh, C.Y. Chen ＆ Sivan. [as rostrospora] was described by Hsieh et al. （1975） and was accepted in the world monograph of the genus Anthostomella Sacc. by Lu and Hyde （2000） with a note that the ascal apical ring and its ascospores were distinct from the other species of Anthostomella. A. rostrospora, however, is a later homonym name of A. rostrispora （W.R. Gerard） Sacc. （Saccardo 1882） which was treated as a species of Hypoxylon by Martin （1967） and as Rosellinia by Lu and Hyde （2000） and therefore illegitimate.
