摘  要:液晶正在高清晰电视、投影系统和光通讯网络方面得到广泛应用。知道液晶状态对表面处理的响应在各种应用中非常重要。但如果在表面上出现了小的预倾角,测量将得到表观外推长度。这一测量结果给出弱锚定的结论,而事实上是强锚定。本文使用半漏导波模式研究电场作用下平行排列盒中的指向矢形变。通过光学导波方法区分小的预倾角与弱锚定两种不同的边界处理。我们发现p(横磁,TM)到s(横电,TE)偏振转变信号对两种指向矢分布十分敏感。Liquid crystals are being used in high resolution TV, projection systems and optical communication networks. For their applications it is important to know how the liquid crystal's response varies with surface treatment. But if a small pretilt angle at the surface is actually present, an apparent extrapolation length can be measured. This could lead to the conclusion that the anchoring is weak, despite the fact that the anchoring is truly strong. Optical excitation of half-leaky guided modes was used to explore the director distortion of a homogeneously aligned liquid crystal under application of an electric field. We distinguished between pretilt angle and weak anchoring at the surface by using guided optical waves. We found that the p (transverse magnetic, TM) to s (tranverse electric, TE) polarization coversion signal is sensitive to two kinds of the director profiles.
