《论语》三个英译本翻译研究的功能语言学探索

摘　　要：语境和纯理功能是系统功能语言学的重要概念。本文的目的是把这两个概念运用于《论语》英译研究之中。本文首先探讨系统功能语言学的语境理论和纯理功能思想用于《论语》英译研究的可行性和适用性，然后对取自阿瑟·威利、潘富恩和温少霞、赖波和夏玉和的三个《论语》英译本中的个别翻译范例进行功能语篇分析，旨在通过对比原文与译文的功能参数对译文的效果给予客观的评价。我们的分析表明：系统功能语言学中的理论可为我们客观评估译本提供一定的依据。Working within the Systemic Functional framework,this paper attempts to evaluate the translation of a few quotations from Confueius＇s Lun Yu. To be specific,the translated quotations are taken from three different versions （i. e. ,by Arthur Waley, Pan Fuen ＆ Wen Shaoxia,and Lai Bo ＆ Xia Yu＂ he） and the focus is on Transitivity analysis. The discussion not only indicates that a functional discourse analysis helps us to evaluate the translation product in a systemic and systematic way but also shows the feasibility and applicability of a functional approach to translation studies.
