摘　　要：清末(1892—1911年)兴起的"切音字运动",长期被一些人当成"汉字拼音化"思潮的起源。笔者根据最近发现的原始史料,重新揭示了它的真面目,阐明了它的主流趋向与学术旨归所在,给这段历史做了新的论证,有助于认识汉字存在的理据。The Movement of Qieyin Characters firstly appeared at the latter stage of Qing Dynasty （1892—1911）, and has been long considered to be the origin of alphabetic writing of Chinese characters. Based on the recent primitive findings, the paper reveals the mainstream tendency and academic orientation of the Movement of Qieyin Characters, expounds this period of history again and helps to understand the reasonable grounds of the existence of Chinese characters.
