摘　　要：中国是世界上最早认识、开采和利用煤炭的国家,有长达六七千年的煤炭开发利用历史。我国古代煤矿业生产和技术水平在世界上曾一直处于领先地位,几千年来对我国的政治、经济、文化的发展和社会的进步及生产力的提高起过很重要的作用。但发展到近代,由于没能很好地注意总结经验以求进一步发展,也没有及时注意吸收和采用世界上其他国家出现的新的科学技术成就,致使中国近代煤矿业处于非常落后的状态。了解近代煤矿业的发展概况及分析研究近代煤矿事故发生的原因,对于今天煤炭工业的发展定能起到一定的启示作用与借鉴意义。文章概述了我国近代煤矿业发展的历程以及煤矿事故的概况,并简要分析了事故发生的社会历史原因,以期能为今天的煤炭工业发展提供新的思路。China is the nation which knows, exploits and utilizes the coal at the earliest stage in the world and has as long as six or seven thousand year history of exploitation and utilization. The production and technological level of ancient China＇s coal industry has once been in a leading position in the world and has very important function in the development of politics, economy and culture and social progress. But in modem China, because the governor didn＇t summary experience in order to develop further and also didn＇t absorb and adopt the new achievement of sci- ence and technique in other countries, the modem China＇s coal mine industry lies in very laggard state. It is inspi- ration and mirror to development of today＇s coal mine industry that understanding the development situation of mod- em coal mine industry and analyzing the reasons of accidents. So, the development progress of modem China＇s coal mine industry and situation of coal mine accidents were briefly summarized, and the social and historical cause of accidents were briefly analyzed in order to provide new way of thinking to development of today＇s coal industry.
