[Objective] To explore the abuse of dependent substance in floating population in Chengdu City and its influential factors, and provide basis for prevention of dependent substance abuse in future. [Methods] The cross-sectional survey was adopted in collecting data. Analysis of variance, chi-square test and logistic regression analysis were applied to conduct univariate and multivariate analysis with raw data from the health survey on floating population in Chengdu City. [Results] The use of tobacco and alcohol in floating population was higher than other dependent substance use, and the usage rate of them was 26.10% and 25.30% separately. Univariate analysis and logistic regression analysis showed that gender, marriage and the hours they worked every week were the common influential factors of the use of tobacco, alcohol and drug; anxiety was the influential factor of drug use. [Conclusion] It’s important to prevent the abuse of dependent substance by taking strategy of enhancing the training of professional skill, improving working skill, shortening hours they work every week, taking action before they use the dependent substance, and wiping out discrimination against them and so on.
