摘　　要：E.M.福斯特在小说中率先关注英国人"发育不良的心"这一主题,进而提出改变"逻辑"的"联结"。然而福斯特式的"联结"在不同文化之间的融通中一次次地遭遇各种迷惘和尴尬,也造成了作品的文化逻辑与作者的主观意图的断裂。福斯特的四部代表性小说是一个一以贯之的有机整体,文化身份的嬗变使得福斯特式的"批判"和"联结"在表层上是非政治的、乌托邦式的,本质上则是一种资产阶级自由主义和人道主义者对工业文明带来的种种不"和谐"进行补救的方法,最终折射出英国中心论。E. M. Forster first pays close attention to the theme of the ＂under-grown hearts＂ of the English people in his four novels. As a kind of national disease peculiar to the English people of the Edward VII Age, the ＂under-grown hearts＂ then find expression in conflicts and alienation among people. His novels is an organic whole, the evolution of Forster＇ s culture identity make this kind of ＂criticism＂ and ＂connection＂ seem to be nonpolitical and utopian on the surface, but in essence it is no more than a remedy proposed by humanitarians and liberalists for the disharmony brought about by industrialization. It reflects Forster＇ s British centrism.
