摘　　要：构建和谐社会是党中央从我国的基本国情出发,立足当前,着眼长远,全面落实以人为本的科学发展观,为实现全面建设小康社会和可持续发展而提出的一项重大战略决策。佛教虽然是外来宗教,但历经二千多年的发展已成为中国传统文化的重要组成部分,它不仅为人类提供了一整套反思宇宙自然、社会生活的哲学体系,更为人类的社会生活提供了一套道德规范体系,对构建和谐社会具有独特的价值。Harmonious society construction is a critical strategy put forward by the central Communist government, based on China＇s basic situations in short and long terms, in order to materialize the human- oriented scientific development theory and well-off society and sustainable development. Buddhism is a foreign religion in China, but it has become an important part of Chinese traditional culture through over 2, 000 year development, which provides not only a philosophical system of meditating on the universe and society, but also a moral norm, and thus plays a unique role in current harmonious society construction.
