摘　　要：本文根据语言测试的基本理论从听力理解、语法结构、阅读理解、翻译、写作和口语等六个方面分析了高等学校英语应用能力考试设计的长处和不足,以便测试者进一步改进该考试,从而使该考试对高职高专英语教学起到更好的反拨作用。this article analyzes the merits and demerits of Practical English Test for Colleges in six parts （listening comprehension, vocabulary and structure, reading comprehension, translation, writing and speaking） from the angle of language testing in order to help us better improve it and then it will have more beneficial backwash effect on vocational college English teaching.
