摘　　要：经过太平天国农民战争的沉重打击,广东财政陷入危机,为弥补财政收入不足,广东地方当局开赌征饷。清末广东赌风弥漫一时,其赌博种类之多、形式之简单是其他地方所不多见的。盛炽的赌风是清末以来广东社会蜕变的一个流品,其最大的危害在于致死人命、败坏风俗人心、破坏纲纪法度、败坏吏治、助长盗风,从而加剧社会动荡,有碍社会进步。以清末广东赌博作为研究对象,可以从一个侧面反映近代广东在历史转型时期的社会状况。Focusing on the tempts to make an analysis phenomenon of gambling in Guangdong in the late Qing dynasty, the article at- on the causes to the govemment＇s open and banning policies of gambling in this pe- riod, and to study the major gambling forms as well as the consequences thus caused. By such a study the ar- ticle intends to reflect the social condition of Guangdong in this historical transitioning period from a different perspective.
